Hobart High School
Hobart High School wanted a durable system to waterproof the various flat roof areas of the school to replace the failing bitumen felt covering. Matthew Cutting the project surveyor from David Cutting Associates wanted a system that could be overlaid to an existing bitumen felt and wanted a totally heat free installation, therefore no risk from heat or flame.
After a full roof survey was carried out by Flex-R Ltd. including numerous core samples, it was decided that the existing deck and covering could be left in place, with the RubberBond system bonded directly to the top of the existing bitumen felt covering. This saved the school considerable costs & reduced environmrental impact due to the limited waste disposal and ensured that water ingress to the school during refurbishment was avoided.
The project was undertaken by Approved RubberBond FleeceBack installers, to get all these buildings waterproofed with the RubberBond FleeceBack EPDM system. RubberBond FleeceBack™ being 2.6mm thick, combination of EPDM and polyester fleece backing was therefore the ideal choice creating a rooftop that is fast and simple to install and will withstand the toughest conditions.
The British Board of Agrément (Cert. 02/3967) have approved RubberBond FleeceBack for a life expectancy of over 35 years, one of the longest ratings in the UK and holds the highest achievable fire rating of Broof T4.
