Tim Bowers started his career on the tools at the age of 17, and he was a roofer for 10 years before joining Flex-R. His work on the tools started primarily as a tiler and slater on pitched roofs and small domestic flat roof installs. He gained further experience with flat roof installations when he started working for Scottish & Southern Energy (SSE), where he fitted solar panels to both pitched and flat roofs.
This was during the last recession when there was a boom in renewables due to government support. At SSE, he did many domestic and large commercial flat roof installations, which improved his knowledge and created an interest when he saw the role for Training and Technical support at Flex-R being advertised.
Tim has been with Flex-R for over a decade, initially in a technical support role, before progressing to Training and Installation Manager. During this time he has provided technical guidance to countless parties, from building owners & architects to our own customers. These include Flex-R Specialist Registered Installers (SRIs), who are trained to install our RubberBond FleeceBack single ply and LQD-PUR polyurethane liquid waterproofing systems.
Flex-R Specialist Registered Installers (SRIs) receive training both at our in-house training facilities and on-site. The projects they’re involved in can vary widely, from simple to complex, and from a few square metres to several thousand. The on-site aspect of our offer allows us to tailor our services to their specific needs.
His team also provide similar support to our merchant’s customers, with practical courses held bi-monthly in our High Wycombe and Huddersfield training rooms and are available, at a competitive cost, to all ClassicBond installers.
