Gary comes from a military family. He was born in Cyprus, while his siblings were born in Singapore and Germany. During his early childhood, he travelled to various places around the world before settling in Cramlington in the Northeast of England at the age of 11. He attended school in Cramlington and has fond memories of his time there. Despite spending most of his adult years away from the area, he still considers the Northeast of England his home and keeps in touch with many friends who still reside there.
He left the Northeast when he decided to travel for a few years after leaving school. Subsequently, he lived in Spain for a few years, followed by a few ski seasons in Austria. He returned to the UK in his mid-twenties and took a job at a company called Plastic Pipe Supplies Ltd (PPS) near Stamford, where his career in the construction industry began.
PPS Ltd was a specialist supplier of above and below-ground drainage systems. They had three branches, and he worked for them for eight years before the business was sold to SIG. After a short spell with Burdens Builders Merchants in Cambridge, he was asked to return to SIG Roofing to focus on their Building Plastics Division whilst incorporating roofing when the opportunity arose. He initially worked as a field sales manager, supporting the local SIG Roofing/Building Plastics branches, and was later promoted to a key account manager as the area grew, with his main focus predominantly on roofing products.
After working at SIG for 5 years, Gary applied for a position at Flex-R and relocated to cover London and the Southeast as an area sales manager (ASM). He has been with Flex-R for over 7 years and has been promoted to senior ASM and, more recently, to the National Key Account Manager, specifically supporting their Specialist Registered Installers Division.
Gary explains that his role at Flex-R is very diverse and fulfilling. He spends most of his time supporting, retaining, and growing the company’s key accounts, which are based on their size or specialisation in complex roofing projects. In addition to this, he oversees the regional ASM’s, offering additional support and advice and takes pleasure in discovering and nurturing new accounts.

Both are cold applied, removing the risk associated with heat or flame during installation. RubberBoind is available in 3.05m and 1.52m widths, with factory-applied tape seams and 67% fewer seams than bitumen felt. A range of adhesives and accessories are available. LQD-PUR is a complete liquid roof waterproofing system that is ready to apply straight out of the can. It’s capable of being installed on large areas of both flat and pitched roofs but is also suitable for complex roof shapes with challenging details.
Gary has moved out of London and is now living with his partner in Oundle, Northamptonshire. This location is conveniently situated between the two Flex-R distribution warehouses in High Wycombe and Huddersfield.
